A bathroom is the one room where the container's job is to get rid of water rather than to hold things. Drainage beats capacity: a caddy with a solid base collects a puddle that sits under a bottle for days, and that is where the black ring at the bottom of the shampoo comes from.

The public health guidance on this is unglamorous and correct: mould is a moisture problem, and where a room is permanently damp, ventilation and more frequent cleaning do more than any product. A well-drained caddy helps. It does not replace an extractor fan.
