Hardware & liners

Liners, knobs and the small metal parts

A shelf liner does two jobs and people usually only want one of them. It stops things sliding, and it takes the wear that would otherwise land on the shelf itself. If you only want the second, a thin liner is enough; if you want the first, it has to be the grippy kind, and the grippy kind traps crumbs.

Knobs and pulls are the cheapest way to change a room and the easiest to get wrong by an inch. Measure the existing hole spacing before ordering anything with two screws.
